Who We Are
The Liberian Community of Switzerland was founded in 2004 by a group of Liberians in Switzerland. A not-for-profit apolitical-based association, its aims and objectives are solely to foster unity among Liberians in Switzerland and around the world, to enhance their social heritage and maintain friendly relations in the diaspora, and contribute to national development efforts and programs in Liberia, assist members with moral, and communal support, whenever necessary. Based on the Swiss Civil Code, LICOS strives to promote educational, cultural, and economic activities for our community. LICOS also seeks to enhance friendly relations with other African diaspora communities in Switzerland and Europe. We consider it our responsibility to undertake educational and healthcare initiatives in Liberia, such as enabling much-needed renovations to school structures, distributing educational materials in schools, and providing necessary health care. This diaspora community sees it as a duty to promote and foster academic, health-oriented, and economic assistance to encourage growth and development in Liberia.
